Canadian demand for the Chrysler Pacifica took off in the second quarter of 2025, according to the latest figures showing sales of the Windsor-built vehicle doubling over the same period last year.

FCA Canada, part of Stellantis, reported Wednesday the company sold 4,328 Pacificas, an increase of 96 per cent. However, the quarterly sales number for Grand Caravans, also built at the Windsor Assembly Plant, dropped 11 per cent, to 1,874 units.

In total, the company sold 6,204 minivans, more than a 41 per cent increase in sales for the same period a year ago.

“Chrysler brand sales rose nearly 50 per cent, thanks to the one-two punch of value and features offered to Canadians by Chrysler Grand Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica,” FCA Canada said in a news release. “Minivan sales improved by over 3,000 examples, versus the first half of 2024.”

While Canadian sales of the Pacifica were on the rise, U.S. sales sagged in the second quarter, falling to 17,962 units from 37,768 a year earlier — a 53 per cent decline.

The Windsor Assembly Plant was idled for several weeks earlier this year after U.S. tariffs disrupted supply chains, a slowdown that made the second-quarter rebound in Canadian Pacifica sales especially significant, according to the company.

FCA Canada attributed the sales jump to a “combination of strategic factors,” including adjusted pricing, improved availability on dealer lots, and the “success” of the ‘Chrysler 100 Years in Canada’ promotion.

“Together, these targeted elements have boosted customer accessibility and interest, reinforcing the Chrysler brand’s legacy of over 40 years of leadership in the minivan segment,” a spokesperson for Stellantis Canada said in an emailed statement to the Star.

During a 2026 Chrysler Pacifica brand reveal in June, Chrysler brand CEO Christine Feuell confirmed the company is proceeding with plans for a significant refresh of the Windsor-built minivan next year, in addition to other investments.

The refresh is expected to feature a completely redesigned front end inspired by the Halcyon Concept unveiled in 2024, along with an upgraded interior, a revamped infotainment system, and a new plug-in hybrid system.

As part of this year’s 100th anniversary celebrations, Chrysler is also offering a special edition Pacifica available for order as of last month.

Several other Stellantis vehicles recorded increases in the first half of 2025, including the Ram ProMaster (131 per cent), Dodge Durango (16 per cent), Jeep Compass (11 per cent) and Alfa Romeo Giulia (three per cent)

In its first full year of sales, over 2,700 examples of the Fiat 500e battery-electric vehicle (BEV) were sold.

Overall sales for FCA Canada were down 10 per cent, at 32,554 vehicles sold in the second quarter. For the first half of 2025, sales decreased 14 per cent, to 58,908 units.

FCA US saw similar declines south of the border, reporting a 10 per cent decrease in second-quarter sales, to 309,976 vehicles, and an 11 per cent drop for the first half of the year, with 603,188 units sold.
